Today the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs arrived in Yerevan. To note, when in Azerbaijan they refused to meet with journalists; a press conference in Yerevan is not planned either. “The confidential activities of the OSCE Minsk Group conflict with democracy principles,” stated well-known Azeri political scientist Zardusht Alizade when commenting on the mediators’ behavior. He advised the Co-chairs to remember “that the matter does not concern the OSCE MG lands”. In Alizade’s opinion, the process should be transparent. As for the mediators’ refusal to speak with press, the political scientist said it does not testify efficiency of the negotiations. “They have nothing to discuss. The positions of Azerbaijan and Armenia are absolutely opposite. Moreover both in Yerevan and Baku the opposition is waiting for an opportunity to use the Karabakh card in their own political interests. All this is an imitation of a negotiation process,” he stated.
