Sunday, February 5 a priest of St. Mary Catholic Church was killed in the Turkish town of Trabzon. A teenager was detained as suspect. However according to another source, a youth of 17-18 managed to escape. As it became known, the murder was committed in the church. The murder shut the priest dead when the later answered the door. The motives are not known yet, however policemen do not rule out that the murder was committed in revenge for the publication of Prophet Mohammad’s caricatures in some European editions. Besides, a protest action was held at Denmark’s Consulate in Istanbul. The protesters burnt the Danish flag and threw eggs upon the building as well as the policemen, who were called to maintain order, reported, AFP news agency.
