Armenia’s position coincides with the one outlined in the statement by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
Minister Nalbandian emphasized that unlike Azerbaijan, which accepts one principle only, Armenia has always supported the three basic principles of conflict resolution: non-use of force, people’s right to self-determination and territorial integrity, for the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh problem.
“Despite numerous calls to avoid military rhetoric, Baku continues with threats and propaganda of xenophobia,” he said.
As to conflict resolution, Minister Nalbandian said the Council of Europe can make a great contribution to establishment of dialogue and confidence-building measures between the conflicting sides.
“The Armenian side sees no problem in holding negotiations,” he said, adding that he will meet with the OCSE MG Co-chairs on June 26.
