State Duma MPs to Visit Russian Base in Armenia

Members of Russian State Duma working group for studying the situation of Russian military bases abroad will be in Armenia February 18-22, reported the Duma Press Service. The MPs will visit the group of combat management of guiding military formations of the Russian Armed Forces in Yerevan, the 102nd military base of the Group of Russian Troops in Transcaucasia (GRTT) in Gryumri city and 3624th aircraft depot, deployed at Erebuni aerodrome (Yerevan). The working group includes Defense Committee Vice-Chair M. Babich, his aide I. Leonidov, Committee members N. Bezborodov and A. Golovatyuk, Committee Administration Advisor V. Ignatyev. The working group is commissioned to determine the provision of the base with arms, military equipment and necessary materiel, as well as material and social maintenance of the base personnel and their family members. During their visit to the base the working group will draw a report on the shortcomings discovered and propose measures to fix these. To establish working interaction, the visits to Russian military bases abroad may be paid along with MPs of states, in whose territory the military bases are situated.
