An individual, who has committed a crime, cannot be identified with a whole nation. Ramil Safarov is a criminal and he should be punished. However, he does not represent the whole Azeri people, political scientist Stepan Grigoryan stated in a conversation with a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. In his words, Safarov is victim of the Anti-Armenian propaganda campaign, held for many years. «The Azeri society will start coming to its senses only after it finds will to recognize that Ramil Safarov is a murderer,» Grigoryan said.
The National Democratic Party of Azerbaijan has declared Azeri officer Ramil Safarov Man of the Year 2005. According to Party Chairman Iskender Hamidov, Safarov’s family will be awarded Diploma for Services of Protection of State and National Interests. «I don’t care how Ramil Safarov killed the Armenian officer. The important thing is that there is one Gurgen less than before and the more Azeris kill Armenians, the less there will be left,» leader of «gray wolves» said. The Azeri officer is also awarded title of Honorary Member of the National Democratic Party of Azerbaijan.
In Grigoryan’s words, Hamidov is a marginal politician and he cannot represent a whole nation. «People of the kind often do not realize what they are doing,» Stepan Grigoryan emphasized.
