January 20-21 the 10-th international conference devoted to the problems of Central Asia and the Caucasus will be held in the Center for Political and International Research of the Iranian foreign ministry. According to Iranian sources, as reported by “Arminfo” agency, the conference participants will discuss, in particular, the impact of such events as the acts of terrorism in US in September 2001, the Talib regime collapse in Afghanistan, the building of pipelines on the security and political stability, as well on the economic situation in the region. Besides, the conference participants will discuss the causes of crisis situations in Central Asia and the Caucasus, expansion of the political, economic and humanitarian cooperation, formation of preconditions for peace and stability in the region, the role of international organizations and regional associations in securing the countries of the region. Over 60 political scientists, experts and statesmen from Central Asian, Caucasian and European countries are expected to participate in the conference.
