Azerbaijan constantly uses the rostrum of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) to accuse Armenia both on various occasions and without cause. PACE Armenian delegation head Hovhannes Hovhannisian told “Arminfo” agency commenting on the statement of the Azeri delegation in PACE ecological commission that “the Armenian Atomic Power Plant is insecure.” In his words, the charges brought by the Azeri party have never been taken seriously in the PACE and this time it will hardly get a proper response. Let us note that in an interview to “Zerkalo” Baku newspaper PACE Azeri delegation member Rafael Guseynov reported that within the last 2-3 days the document “On the threat to the environment posed by the Metsamor Atomic Power Station” arranged by Azerbaijan had been signed in fact by all members of the PACE commission and it would be published as an official document of the Assembly in January.
