Iran intends to further contribute to the establishment of a political dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan and “will be glad if the leaders of the two countries pay mutual visits.” As reported by “Teheran Times” Iranian newspaper, Iranian foreign minister Kamal Kharrazi stated it in the course of the meeting with Azeri vice-premier Ali Gasanov. The minister expressed confidence that Yerevan and Baku were able to overcome the present crisis. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening peace and security in the South Caucasus and developing cooperation among the countries of the Transcaucasian and Caspian regions.
