Armenia’s recent accession to the World Trade Organization is an important stimulus for the US government to sign free trade agreement with Armenia. The Armenian Assembly of America message to the US administration says this. “We call the US government to speed up the process of providing a favorable trade regime to Armenia,” – the message notes. The Assembly grounds its opinion by the Wall Street Journal data, according to which Armenia is the leader of investment opportunities in the region. Armenia differs from the former Soviet Union states by holding most liberal economic policy in business development and attraction of foreign investments, the AAA message notes. The US, the document continues, is within the top five trade partners of Armenia and should be interested in providing trade benefits for Armenian production. Thus, last year, export of Armenian goods to the US increased 43% with California having main part of the export.
