The ways of further cooperation were considered at the fourth meeting of the Armenia-Belarus intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation in Minsk. The sides discussed the results of fulfillment of agreements reached by the presidents of Belarus and Armenia in June 2002. In particular the matter concerned the increase of the collective investment fund of «BelAr» Trade House» close corporation, the expansion of the export of Belarussian motor and tractor machinery to Armenia, the supplies of seed potato of the Belarussian selection from 2002 harvest. On the basis of the protocol signed by minister of architecture and construction of Belarus Gennady Kurochkin and minister of trade and economic development of Armenia Karen Chshmaritian, the volume of mutual supplies of the production on 2002-2003 was determined and the legal base of the cooperation will be expanded. The commission activities are to assist in the development of direct contacts between the enterprises and scientific and technical organizations of the two states. According to the data of the RA trade and economic cooperation ministry, 14 enterprises with Belarussian capital share are registered in the territory of Armenia. Those enterprises are mainly engaged in the spheres of trade, production, food staff and footwear, metallurgy, textile industry. At that, the investments of the Belarussian capital into the Armenian economy are $200 thousand. The turnover between Belarus and Armenia has been $2.5 million for eight months 2002.
