Armenia ombudsman attending OCSE ODIHR meeting in Vienna

Armenian human rights defender Arman Tatoyan is participating in the Vienna-hosted annual meeting of National Preventive Mechanisms (NPM) from the OSCE region, the ombudsman’s office said Wednesday, October 12.

Set to run through October 14, the meeting will gather senior representatives from 32 NPMs to take stock of achievements and challenges in the OSCE region, 10 years after the entry into force of the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture (OPCAT).

In the course of the summit, Tatoyan will hold meetings with representatives of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).

Also, members of the United Nations Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture and the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture will participate in the summit.
