QUESTION OF WITHDRAWAL TIME OF RUSSIAN MILITARY BASE FROM AKHALKALAKI REGION OF GEORGIA NOT DECIDED, SAMTSKHE-JAVAKHETIA GOVERNOR STATED

The question of time of withdrawal of the Russian military base from the Akhalkalaki region of Georgia is not decided yet. Plenipotentiary representative of the Georgian President in Samtskhe-Javakhetia Teimuraz Mosiashvili told it to journalists in Yerevan today. In his words, “the amplitude of time of the base possible withdrawal is too large – from 3 to 20 years.” Nevertheless, T.Mosiashvili expressed opinion that withdrawal of the Russian base from Akhalkalaki was hardly possible in the near future. As the plenipotentiary representative noted, the main task here was to provide the necessary conditions for the process of the withdrawal to be as smooth for the local population as possible. “It is one of the serious problems, which we intend to solve together with Armenia,” – T.Mosiashvili said.
