YEREVAN READY TO JOINTLY SOLVE PROBLEMS OF ARMENIAN POPULATION OF SAMTSKHE-JAVAKHETIA REGION OF GEORGIA

Armenia is ready to support the Georgian government in solving the social and economic problems of Armenian population of Samtskhe-Javakhetia region of Georgia in every way. Armenian President Robert Kocharian stated it at the meeting with plenipotentiary representative of the Georgian President in Samtskhe-Javakhetia Teimuraz Mosiashvili in Yerevan. The Armenian leader listed development of infrastructure of the region, creation of employment opportunities and integration of Javakhetia Armenians into the public life of Georgia among the priority tasks. In his turn T.Mosiashvili noted that a complex social and economic program for the residents of the region was being worked out at present. He marked out reestablishment of the motor route connecting Armenia with Georgia, water and energy supplies among the urgent problems. “The situation in the region is stable,” – Mosiashvili also emphasized.
