TALKS ON IRAN-ARMENIA GAS PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION CONTINUE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ESTABLISHED SCHEDULE

Before the turn of the year all political and economic questions for beginning construction of Iran-Armenia gas pipeline will be settled. In the words of Armenian minister of energy Armen Movsisian, a little suspension in the negotiation process was due to the third party – Turkmenistan, which will become the main supplier of raw materials through the gas pipeline. At present the negotiations on building the gas pipeline continue in accordance with the provided schedule of works. Let us note that the estimated cost of the project of building the 140 km-long gas pipeline is $120 million. Through this route Armenia will receive the relatively cheap Turkmen gas being already supplied to Iran.
