UN DATA SAYS ARMENIA AMONG COUNTRIES WITH AVERAGE DEVELOPMENT LEVEL

Yesterday UN secretary-general Kofi Annan made public the 2003 UN Human Development Report. The document presents the results of monitoring of the level of human development in 175 countries of the world. According to these data, having occupied the 87-th, Armenia is ranked among the group of countries with average development level. It should be noted that the following 3 components form the main criteria of UN Development Program annual monitoring: life expectancy, per capita income and standard of education. It should be noted that resulting from a miscalculation in the data Armenia was the 100-th in the preliminary report. The error was corrected and comments on it were presented on the electronic page of the Human Development Report.
