The burglary of “Yerkramas” newspaper of the Armenians of the south of Russia taken place on the night of September 4, which made further publication of the newspaper impossible, is due to the coming elections for the Legislative Assembly of Krasnodar territory. The newspaper editor Tigran Tavadian stated it. In his words, the newspaper had significant impact on the Armenian grassroots of Kuban, and someone did not wish to admit “Yerkramas” to the pre-electoral agitation. According to approximate calculation, over 300 thousand rubles are necessary for the newspaper to resume work, buy new equipment and restore its information base. In this regard Tigran Tavadian relies on patrons of the arts and readers.
