EU APPOINTED SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE IN SOUTH CAUCASUS

Finnish diplomat Heikki Talvitie is appointed special representative of the European Union in the South Caucasus. As the press service of the EU Council told “Mediamax” agency, the appointment of a special representative will let the EU play a more active role in the South Caucasian region. It should be noted that in 1995-1996 Heikki Talvitie was co-chair of the OSCE Minsk conference on the Nagorno Karabakh issue.
