The statements of European structures on the presidential elections in Nagorno Karabakh being incompetent were a forced move. US Congressman Frank Pallone (D-NJ) told journalists about it. He noted that the representatives of European organizations did not want to influence the peaceful negotiations on the Karabakh problem in any way. “But it does not mean that elections in Karabakh should not be held. NKR is a state and the aim of the elections is to contribute to consolidation and strengthening of that state,” – he said. In F.Pallone’s opinion, the holding of democratic presidential elections in Nagorno Karabakh will become evidence of the Karabakh people’s adherence to European values. “We have arrived to monitor the course of the presidential elections and our aim is to prove to the external world that Nagorno Karabakh has become a democratic and free state,” – the US Congressman noted. F.Pallone considers that NKR possesses all the attributes of an independent and stable country, which in its turn should contribute attraction of investments into the Republic.
