IF ARMENIAN-TURKISH TALKS CONTINUE, NO PROBLEMS WILL BE IN REGION IN TEN YEARS, TURKISH NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL MEMBER CONSIDERS

In case the negotiation process between Armenia and Turkey continues, no problems will remain in the region in ten years. Member of the National Security Council of Turkey Hasan Koni stated it. As reported by Turkish mass media, Koni noted that in case ex-minister of foreign affairs Ismail Cem’s “New Turkey” party takes power, Kars-Gyumri railway would open already in a year. Meanwhile, member of “New Turkey” party, deputy of the Turkish parliament Genul Saray considers that Turkey should not develop its relations with Armenia unilaterally: both sides should undertake certain measures. In his words, the first step should be made by Armenia by providing a corridor between Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan. After that, the deputy noted, Turkey will put pressure on Azerbaijan so as to make Baku normalize relations with Yerevan. Only in that case, one can speak about opening the Armenian-Turkish border, Genul Saray thinks.
