FINAL OFFICIAL MEETING ON ARMENIAN’S JOINING WTO TO TAKE PLACE IN SEPTEMBER

The other day, the informal negotiations on joining of Armenia the World Trade Organization took place in Geneva. As the head of the Armenian negotiation group, RA deputy minister of trade and economy development Tigran Davtian has stated in his interview with the “Arka” agency, at the negotiations with participation of the WTO state-members” representatives, the sides came to agreement on the main part of the clauses of “the National report” regarding the economic legislation of Armenia as well as the ways and the volume of the state assistance to the agriculture. According to the deputy minister, the states, pretending to the WTO membership, undertake 20 obligations in average and as regards Armenia, only four documents remain unfulfilled. Davtian also reported the negotiation state-members approved the conducting of the meeting on level of ministers on Armenia’s joining the WTO in late September. After that, the Supreme Council of the organization will confirm the membership of Armenia at one of the meetings until the year-end.
