The Armenian Assembly of America has sent letters to US president George Bush, Israeli Army Occupation of Armenian Patriarchate Lands in Bethlehem Secretary of State Colin Powell and National Security Affairs Advisor Condoleezza Rice expressing concerns over reports that the Israeli Army has occupied lands and properties belonging to the Armenian Patriarchate. As the letters state the Armenian presence in the region dates back more than 16 centuries and the Patriarchate was founded in 638 AD so that land holds great meaning to the Armenian Apostolic Church and Armenians throughout the world. The Armenian Assembly of America called on the Administration to investigate the matter and assist in resolving it.
