The Armenian MFA has received the answer from Israel regarding the inquire on the seized Armenian land belonging to the Armenian patriarchate of Jerusalem. According to Armenian foreign minister Vardan Oskanian, at present, the government of Israel negotiates with the representatives of the Armenian patriarchate of Jerusalem aiming at settling the issue. “We are in regular communication with the Israeli government”, the minister noted. At that, he refrained from the answer to the question on having the legal basis for assertion to the land. “We consider all the possible variants for the issue settlement. Of course, there might be different means. But first of all, the situation must be cleared up with the Israeli government and only then it has to be decided what steps should be taken. The fact that the Israeli party has started the negotiations with the real owner of the land- the Armenian patriarchy – already inspires with optimism”, the foreign minister noted. It should be reminded the Israeli defense ministry plans to erect a separation wall between the Israel and Palestine in that territory.
