ARMENIAN GENOCIDE CASE MUST BE CONSIDERED AT INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT, EUROPEAN LAWYER THINKS

The case on the 1915 Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey must be considered in the Hague international criminal court. The head of the department on human rights and legal issues of the Supreme commissariat of Bosnia and Herzegovina Christopher Garland has stated that at the lecture on “Responsibility for military crimes and genocide”. He also noted Turkey could be called to account as a sate that committed genocide exactly in that way. According to Garland, at present, military crimes are mainly considered at the international tribunals as it was with the genocides in Rwanda and Yugoslavia where legal processes have very protracted nature.
