RUSSIAN MIA LEADERSHIP MET WITH ARMENIAN APOSTOLIC CHURCH RUSSIAN DIOCESE LEADER

The leadership of the MIA of Russia has met with the representatives of the religious confessions of Russia. As “Rossijskaya gazeta” reports, Novo-Nakhichevan and Armenian Apostolic Church Russian diocese archbishop Yezras Nersesian participated in the meeting. The meeting formally did not concern the recent extremist incidents but, apparently, the parties spoke about the topic regarding the crimes on the national and religious basis. The meeting in the MIA took place in private but the deputy minister of internal affairs of RF Vladimir Vasilyev reported, in the nearest future, Russian MIA and representatives of the religious confessions would establish a joint working group for cooperation regarding “a number of issues”, particularly, the issue of preventive measures of violations of the law on religious and national disagreement basis, religious extremism. It should be reminded, July 8 in Krasnoarmeysk town situated near Moscow a mass fight between the local young people and representatives of the Armenian Diaspora took place. July 9, a mass fight between the officials of one of the guard offices and the members of the Armenian Diaspora took place in Novosibirsk.
