The press service of the Armenian Embassy in Russia has expressed concerns regarding the reports in Russian media about disorders and pogroms towards Armenians in Krasnoarmeysk town. “We think the creation of excessive stir regarding the events in Krasnoarmeysk is unsuitable and we urge media representatives to approach the events with weighted evaluations and to refrain from seeking different hidden motives of what happened”, the embassy press release states. As the document states, the friendly relations that Armenia and Russia have are tested for centuries and such grieved incidents cannot and should not cloud the relations between the two peoples. The representatives of the Armenian embassy with the leadership of the Union of Armenians of Russia visited the site of the occurrence and got familiar with the situation. “We have complete trust in the competent authorities of the Russian Federation and are sure that the investigation of the fact of crime will be conducted efficiently and the people who are guilty will be punished impartially, according to the Russian legislation”, the embassy statement states.
