As part of routine combat training exercises, mortar crews of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh completed a number of tasks in accordance with the peacekeeping training program, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Monday, July 5.
At the observation post, the military personnel improved their skills of bringing mortars to a combat position. Also, they worked out the coherence and speed of the calculations during firing, aiming at the target by coordinates.
In addition, the mortar crews worked out a number of standards for target reconnaissance and the change of firing positions.
The Russian peacekeeping contingent was deployed in Karabakh after Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia signed a statement on the cessation of hostilities.
Under the deal, the Armenian side has returned all the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities.
