No "contacts" between the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia – Nikol Pashinyan, Ilham Aliyev and Vladimir Putin – will take place on the anniversary of the signing of the trilateral statement on Nagorno-Karabakh, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday, November 9.
"As for communication with Baku and Yerevan, it happens at various levels and exclusively on a regular basis. About communication between the three, if and when such an agreement is reached, we will inform you. At the moment, there is no specific understanding here," Peskova said.
According to him, the trilateral statement from November 9, 2020 is "extremely important, its significance can hardly be overrated."
"We assess the documents from a year ago as extremely important, significant for both Azerbaijan and Armenia, which made it possible to end the war and embark on the path of peaceful development of the regional economy and infrastructure," Peskov said.
Pashinyan, Putin and Aliyev on November 9, 2020 signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Under the deal, the Armenian side returned all the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities.
