ARMENIAN ASSEMBLY OF AMERICA EXPRESSES DISSATISFACTION WITH BILL ON DUTY-FREE IMPORT OF TURKISH PRODUCTION TO USA

The Armenian Assembly of America (AAA) has expressed dissatisfaction with the US Senate bill stipulating duty-free import of Turkish production to America. According to the AAA chairman John Jamian «the bill is as if an incentive for Turkey for its denial to recognize the 1915 genocide, violations of the human rights and especially, discrimination of minority groups». The bill also is an evidence of ignoring the fact of Turkey’s blockade against the US’s other ally, Armenia, Jamian noted. Besides, he added, such a bill is a real threat to the American industry because of low prices of the Turkish products. According to John Jamian, the AAA has appealed the US Armenian community, other national communities as well as American businessmen to join the protest against the passing of the bill.
