The opening ceremony of the Armenian Park took place in Russian city Yakutsk. The consecration of the khachkar-stone cross, presented to the city on the occasion of its 370 anniversary by the Armenian community of Yacutsk also took place there. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the park, the head of the city Armenian community Khoren Sahakian noted, several hundreds of Armenians reside in Yacutsk and although climate in this region is inclement, they love this region and live here for over 20 years.
