CONFLICT SETTLEMENT IN SOUTH CAUCASUS SHOULD BASE ON TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY PRINCIPLE

The United States considers that “any political solution to conflicts in the South Caucasus should be based on respect of territorial integrity and sovereignty of countries involved.” Stated director of US State Department office of European security and political affairs John Schmidt. Addressing the OSCE Council sitting, as reported by “Mediamax” agency, the US diplomat noted, “the United States abide by the search of a comprehensive solution to the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict, conflicts in South Osetia and Nagorno Karabakh – on a bilateral basis, as well as within the OSCE framework and other international formats.”
