Issues referring to Armenian-Turkish relations and settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict were discussed by the leadership of the Armenian Assembly of America (AAA) and senior officials of the US administration the other day. As reported by the AAA, undersecretary of state for political affairs Marc I. Grossman, special assistant to the president and senior director for European and Eurasian affairs of the National Security Council Daniel Fried and Council director for the Aegean, Caucasus and Central Asia Mathew Bryza were in particular among the interlocutors of the Armenian lobbyists. The AAA leaders also met with deputy assistant secretary of defense of Eurasia Mira Ricardel. Among the issues discussed were the pending legislation including the Genocide Resolution, improvement of trade relations between the US and Armenia. “As we prepare to head to Armenia to meet with the government, we want to be well-versed on the Administration’s intentions and priorities with regard to Armenia,” – said Assembly board of directors chairman Peter Vosbikian.
