The Amsterdam Court of Appeal has rejected the second claim of “Reemtsma” German firm against “SPS Cigaronne” Armenian company by upholding the decision of economic court in favor of the Armenian company. As reported by “Mediamax” agency, one cannot rule out the opportunity that in response “SPS Cigaronne” will demand from “Reemtsma” firm to compensate the moral and material damages. Let us remind that “Reemtsma,” which produces “Davidoff” elitist cigarettes, accused the Armenian company that the design of “Cigaronne” cigarette packs resembled that of “Davidoff.” February 7 the Amsterdam economic court rejected “Reemtsma” suit because of “absence of cogent evidence.” “SPS Cigaronne” leaders have repeatedly stated that the real goal of “Reemtsma” suits was to push the Armenian competitor out of European markets.
