Russian “Gazprom” hopes to become monopolist gas provider to Armenia this year, deputy chairman of the company board Alexander Ryazanov reported. According to “Interfax” agency, beginning in June “Gazprom” started gas supply to Armenia via the territory of Georgia. Russian “Itera” company was the only supplier of natural gas to Armenia before. At present a five-year agreement between the Armenian government and “Gazprom” on gas supply at fixed prices is at the stage of preparation.
