Secretary General of the European External Action Service Belen Martinez Carbonell held a meeting with Armenia’s Ambassador to the European Union, Tigran Balayan, to discuss the continued development of Armenia–EU relations. Martinez shared details of the meeting on her X microblog.
“Great to meet the Ambassador of Armenia to discuss further deepening of EU–Armenia relations. The European Union remains committed to working for stability, peace and prosperity in the South Caucasus,” Martinez wrote.
On February 12, Armenia’s National Assembly approved in its first reading a bill on launching the process of accession to the European Union. Earlier, on January 9, the Armenian government had endorsed the same proposal initiated by the civic movement Eurovote. The bill is expected to be brought to parliament for further discussion soon.
