COMMISSIONER FOR HUMAN RIGHTS IN RUSSIA DISTURBED BY ARMENOPHOBIA ROUSED BY CERTAIN FORCES IN KUBAN

In the course of commissioner for human rights in Russia Oleg Mironov’s coming visit to Yerevan the problem of legal protection of the Armenian population of the Krasnodar territory will be discussed among other questions. In the letter addressed to the chairman of the human rights commission under the Armenian President Mironov expressed his indignation regarding the cases of infringement of the national dignity of Armenians, in particular, the defilement of the graves in Krasnodar cemetery. His conviction is that forces aiming at destabilizing the situation in the South of Russia and breaking the traditions of ethnic tolerance inherent to Kuban initiate these actions. Oleg Mironov told his Armenian counterpart that “in connection with the events taken place in Krasnodar” he had “addressed an inquiry to the central administrative board of the internal affairs on the Krasnodar territory asking to inform about the measures undertaken to call to account the guilty and to ensure law and order.”
