Levon Aronian defeated world No. 1 Magnus Carlsen 2–0 in the tiebreak round of the Fischer rapid segment at the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour in Las Vegas.
With this victory, Aronian continues his fight for the tournament title, while Carlsen is no longer in contention for the top positions, according to the Armenian Chess Federation.
