Competing under the U.S. flag, Levon Aronian has won the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour, a tournament held in the Fischer Random (960) rapid format.
Throughout the tournament, Aronian secured impressive victories over top-tier grandmasters including Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura, Arjun Erigaisi, and Hans Moke Niemann, according to the Armenian Chess Federation.
Following the tournament, Aronian shared a post on his Facebook page, thanking his family, friends, and supporters. “I’m very happy to win the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam in Las Vegas. Time to celebrate. Thank you to my family, friends, and fans! Onward always,” he wrote.
