Vache Hovakimyan has become the European under-16 rapid chess champion. He is a student of the Chess Academy of Armenia.
“The Academy's student is a European champion. Our student, Vache Hovakimyan, won the 2025 European U16 Rapid Chess Championship,” reads the Academy’s official announcement.
The tournament was held on August 5–6 in Thessaloniki, Greece.
Vache delivered an excellent performance, scoring 7.5 out of a possible 9 points, earning him the title of absolute winner and boosting his rapid chess rating by 109.6 points.
The Academy expressed its gratitude to Vache’s coach, International Master Tigran Harutyunyan, for his high-quality preparation and personal dedication.
