ARMENIAN DELEGATION TO LEAVE FOR KRASNODAR TODAY TO CLEAR UP CURRENT SITUATION BECAUSE OF THREAT OF DEPORTATION OF ARMENIANS

Today Armenian delegation including the government representatives and the National Assembly deputies will leave for Kransodar to clear up the current situation because of the threat of the deportation of Armenians from Krasnodar Territory. The delegation members will conduct negotiations with Governor Aleksander Tkachev, the leaders of the force structures and law-enhancement bodies. It should be reminded that the visit was planned May 15 but was postponed on the initiative of the Kuban authorities. It should be reminded, the Territory leadership has expressed the wish to meet with a delegation including representatives of the executive power and not parliamentarians. Nevertheless, besides the deputy ministers of industry and trade, culture, science and education and the head of the Caucasian affairs department of the ministry of foreign affairs, chair of the parliamentary committee for foreign relations Hovannes Hovannesian, his deputy-Dashnaktutyun party member Armen Rustamian, representative of the republican party Armen Mkhitarian are also included in the delegation. It should be noted, the tension of the relations between Yerevan and Krasnodar Territory has notably become less after reciprocal visits of governor Tkachev and the Union of Armenian of Russia president Ara Abramian. In the course of their consultations, the agreement on joint settlement of the social problems making for the development of the hostility against Armenians in the Territory was reached. Now terms of the Krasnodar Territory governor’s visit to Yerevan are made more exact.
