Armenia’s representatives achieved major victories at the 46th World Armwrestling Championship, held September 11–14 in Albena, Bulgaria, bringing home gold medals.
In the super heavyweight category, Gegham Khachatryan defeated Turkey’s Yildirim Teoman to become champion, according to Sputnik Armenia.
Mariam Sargsyan also won gold after overcoming another Turkish opponent in the finals.
The tournament featured more than 1,500 athletes from 57 countries.
