Noah to build modern stadium in Etchmiadzin

Armenia’s reigning champion, Noah Football Club, will construct a state-of-the-art UEFA Category 4 stadium in Etchmiadzin with a capacity of around 15,000 spectators.

The investment project, worth more than AMD 7 billion and introduced by the Imagine Yerevan company representing the club, was approved at the Armenian government’s September 18 session, Armenpress reported.

According to Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan, the project will be carried out in two stages: the first, by 2030, will rebuild and modernize the Vagharshapat Football Academy; the second will construct the stadium and adjacent infrastructure, including dining and leisure facilities, enabling the hosting of international tournaments.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that the government is also working on the construction of a major national stadium in the Academic City and several other arenas capable of hosting international matches.

Andreasyan added that efforts are underway to build a UEFA Category 4 stadium in Vanadzor as well. She recalled that the football federations of Georgia and Armenia have jointly applied to host the 2029 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

The planned Vagharshapat complex will include not only the stadium but also a high-class hotel, indoor arena, public school, sports hall, swimming pool, dormitory, football academy, and 4–6 natural and artificial turf pitches.
