Grandmaster Levon Aronian, competing under the U.S. flag, drew his first game at the Grand Chess Tour tournament in Brazil.
In the opening round of the finals, Aronian faced fellow U.S. representative Fabiano Caruana, Radar Armenia reported.
The players agreed to split the point after 37 moves.
The Grand Chess Tour finals are being held in São Paulo, Brazil, with a total prize fund exceeding $1 million.
