Liana Gyurjyan secures U23 European weightlifting gold for Armenia

Liana Gyurjyan, a member of Armenia’s women’s weightlifting team, has won a gold medal at the U23 European Weightlifting Championships taking place in Durrës, Albania, securing Armenia’s fifth gold of the tournament, according to Radar Armenia.

Competing in the 86kg category, Gyurjyan completed all three snatch attempts successfully, lifting 95kg, 100kg, and 102kg. She posted the top result in this discipline, earning a gold medal.

In the clean and jerk, she lifted 125kg and 130kg, again outperforming all her competitors.

With a total of 232kg, Gyurjyan was crowned U23 European Champion.

Also representing Armenia, Mari Misakyan earned a bronze medal in the 69kg weight class. She totaled 210kg (92kg snatch and 118kg clean and jerk) at the same championship.
