TURKEY NOT INTENDING TO OPEN FRONTIER WITH ARMENIA YET, TURKISH MFA HEAD STATED

The issue of opening the frontier with Armenia is not entered on the Turkey’s external policy agenda and there is no reason for its insertion at present. Turkish foreign minister Abdullah Gul told “ANS” Turkish TV channel. At the same time, as reported by “Arminfo” agency, he stated that Ankara wishes to establish friendly relations with Yerevan and the issue of the frontier opening is not ruled out to be entered on the agenda in future. As for Turkey’s entry in the European Union, Gul noted “they will not cry” in case of not becoming the EU member. In his words, the European Union should be first interested to have Turkey possessing such a strong army among its members.
