CONDITIONS OF US INDICTMENT OF “LYSINE” ARMENIAN FIRM ASCERTAINED VIA DIPLOMATIC CHANNELS

“Lysine” Armenian company is not state property, Armenian President Robert Kocharian stated while commenting on the information that the firm was included in the list of companies, on which US sanctions will spread. Let us remind that the Americans accuse the enterprise in selling equipment to its Iranian partners, which may be used to create mass annihilation weapons. The head of the state noted he found it difficult to speak about the problem at the moment, but he reported that the deal mechanism was nearly clear and the question was being studies in detail. Speaking of the same topic Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian stated in the interview to the “Arminfo” agency correspondent, there was no clearness in the matter of “Lysine” firm selling bacterium cultures to Iran, allegedly used to produce bacteriological weapons. The government is carrying on a dialogue with US Department of State on the question, the Minister noted. In Oskanian’s words, the State Department asserts that US laws have been violated. “An Armenian firm appears in the case and the Armenian government should proceed from its interests,” – Vardan Oskanian emphasized.
