The fact that violations have been fixed in the course of the Armenian parliamentary elections does not mean that the legitimacy of the parliament may be called in question. Armenian foreign ministry press secretary Dzyunik Agajanian told “Liberty” broadcasting station commenting on the PACE reporter’s suggestion on non-recognition of the Armenian delegation authorities in Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. In her words, the present suggestion cannot be classified as sanctions, for “it is just a item with no legal basis, which was inserted in the report”. D. Agajanian noted that the appearance of such an item was not a surprise for the Armenian delegation. Basing on the mood of the European parliamentarians, the MFA press secretary expressed the opinion that Armenian delegation is anyway considered to be present and work in PACE with the aim of preventing problems existing in the course of the parliamentary elections.
