FORMER RUSSIAN PRIME MINISTER VIKTOR CHERNOMIRDIN AWARDED MKHITAR GOSH ARMENIAN MEDAL

Former Russian Prime Minister, now Russian Ambassador to Ukraine Viktor Chernomirdin is decorated with Mkhitar Gosh medal for contribution to restoration of the Armenian town of Spitak, demolished by the earthquake in 1988. Today Armenian Ambassador to Ukraine Hrach Silvanian handed Chernomirdin the high state award. Chernomirdin was Minister of gas industry of USSR in 1988 and actively participated in elimination of the consequences of the earthquake.
