NEW MEMBER JOINED ARMENIAN CAUCUS

Congresswoman Nydia Velàzquez (D-NY) became the 114th member of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues. As reported by the Armenian Assembly of America, she openly supports congressional recognition of the fact of the Armenian genocide in Ottoman Turkey. Velàzquez recently signed on to a letter urging President George W. Bush to appropriately acknowledge the Armenian genocide. She also voted to maintain Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act.
