Argentinean tennis player with Armenian decent David Nalbandyan, ex-world third racket, has commented upon Martin del Potro’s success at US Open-2009. On September 14, del Potro defeated Switzerland’s Roger Federer in five rounds.
“Juan Martin did fantastic work. The way he played and acted at decisive moments was just incredible. He is the first young Argentinean tennis player to hold victory in Grand Slam tournament. And I extend my congratulations to him. Despite tense struggle during the first game, he played perfectly. Such victories can seriously change his life,” Nalbandyan said. “Del Porto’s victory is the triumph of Argentinean tennis. Let’s hope that will keep making our fans happy,” ATP official Web site quotes Nalbandyan as saying.
