Wisconsin has become the 31 American State, the legislative body of which has recognized the fact of the Armenian genocide in Ottoman Turkey. Armenian National Committee of America director executive Aram Hamparian has stated it today at the press conference. According to him, the Armenia lobby continues its work with the legislators of other states as well as the members of the both houses of the US congress. 126 congressmen have signed the appeal to US president urging to recognize the fact of the Armenian genocide. They claim, George Bush in his traditional speech April 24 uses the word “genocide”. The congressmen reminded the president that the recognition of the Armenian genocide was one of the pre-election promises.
